POSITION SUMMARY

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) reports to the CEO and will be responsible for the overall financial management of Mānoa Botanicals, LLC. This includes the day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, and managing all financial-related activities. This will include responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, payroll, and financing. Works collaboratively with the Executive Team to identify opportunities to increase the value of Noa Botanicals. Drives the Company’s yearly and long-term business planning process, conducts analysis, and provides strategic financial advice on the overall direction of the Company. As an entrepreneurial company, this person will need to be a “roll up your sleeves individual” collaborating with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Operating as the largest licensee on O’ahu, with three dispensary locations & a full production center, we know how to have fun while working hard. As a vertically integrated medicinal facility, we are gearing up for the day Hawai’i becomes a recreational use state, which will result in explosive growth opportunities.

As a true business partner to the CEO, the CFO will assist in the company strategy and raising capital, develop financial forecasts/reporting as well as develop tools and systems to provide critical financial/operational information to the CEO and make actionable recommendations on strategy, operations, and expansion.

 

CORE JOB DUTIES (includes but not limited to)

  • Represent the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, investors, auditors, public officials, etc.
  • Develop and lead financial strategy, goals, and objectives
  • Participate in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating model, and operational execution
  • Prepare and maintain regular financial planning reports; monthly profit and loss forecast; weekly cash flow forecast
  • Oversee cash flow planning, ensure availability of funds as needed, and optimize cash position. Manage cash flow providing short and long-term cash flow planning
  • Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocation
  • Direct and maintain responsibility for the financial function of the organization, acting as the strategic business advisor including any contracts into which the company may enter
  • Maintain the integrity of the organization’s financial practices, ensuring compliance with financial institutions, auditors, and government agencies, including State of Hawaii Department of Health
  • Evaluate the structure, tools, and processes of the finance group and identify needed changes or professional development opportunities to enable future success of the organization
  • Perform timely financial analyses to provide input on business transactions and strategic planning initiatives. Requires creating profitability and cost-benefit analysis reports as well as evaluating possible merger or acquisitions
  • Other duties as needed when operating as a resourceful, entrepreneurial organization

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Experience in presenting to investors and raising capital
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including an understanding of GAAP, tax requirements of governmental agencies, and general auditing procedures

EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS

  • Working knowledge of State of Hawai’i laws, regulations and rules related to medical marijuana
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related field or equivalent work experience
    • MBA, CPA, CFA, M&A or Big 4 experience preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive responsibility in financial leadership roles
  • Experience with QuickBooks
  • Must pass DOH clearance and fingerprinting, per applicable requirements set forth under state statute
  • Years of experience with large corporate structures, and entrepreneurial endeavors
  • Cannabis industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated success in any of the following positions: CFO, VP Finance, or other Senior level finance positions responsible for the duties listed in this job description

 POSITION SUMMARY

The Cultivation Specialist is responsible for the cultivation of our medical cannabis gardens, under the direction of the Cultivation Manager and Cultivation Leads. The Cultivation Specialist assists in monitoring and maintaining plant production and health. They are also responsible for maintaining quality control measures to ensure a high-quality product, as well as assisting with the organization, cleanliness, and efficiency of the cultivation areas. The Cultivation Specialist carries out day-to-day plant care, including watering, pruning, harvesting, and trimming.

CORE JOB DUTIES (including but not limited to)

Plant Care:

  • Measures and mixes nutrient and plant applications and applies these mixtures according to Noa Botanicals policy
  • Ensures plant health by pruning, topping, trimming, scouting, repotting, trellising, and analyzing plant health according to Noa Botanicals policy, as well as any other tasks required
  • Assists Cultivation Manager with rotation of strains through the garden to ensure variety and quantity for dispensary locations

Facility Cleaning:

  • Performs all assigned duties required to ensure a clean and safe cultivation facility
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of all cultivation equipment and tools, including light reflectors, containers, mixing tools, application tools, and ventilation equipment
  • Strictly adheres to company’s standard of sanitation and cleanliness of Cultivation facility
    • Sweeping and mopping
    • Sanitizing all hard surfaces, including tables and walls

Reports & Documentation: 

  • Assists the Cultivation Manager with tracking plants from birth to harvest by ensuring proper and accurate documentation for applicable activities
  • Ensures accurate documentation of all plant tracking numbers, lot numbers, and all other applicable information
  • Documents, according to Noa Botanicals policy, the application of all nutrients and/or substances applied to any plant located within the Cultivation facility

They will be responsible for assisting in product processing and formulation. They complete tasks assigned by the Manufacturing Manager and Manufacturing Lead to operate lab equipment, monitor, and maintain cleanliness and efficiency, and drive quality control while always being compliant. This individual must be able to multitask, work quickly and efficiently, and be adaptable to changing priorities and tasks as needed. The Post Harvest Specialist is responsible for manicuring the product to meet standards set by Noa Botanicals, while in accordance with Hawai’i state laws. This role is responsible for maintaining and following cultivation procedures and will also properly record documents as required. This individual must be able to multitask, work quickly and efficiently, and be adaptable to changing priorities and tasks as needed. We have a very fast-paced environment as we continue to grow and expand. This candidate must be motivated, trustworthy, and able to operate both independently and within a team environment.

CORE JOB DUTIES (includes but not limited to)

  • Breakdown flowers from stem and stalk of plant to separate unusable waste from useable product
  • Track and record amounts of useable vs unusable products
  • Visually inspect plants for any diseases, insects, mold reporting concerns to management
  • Provide support to additional cultivation, harvest, and production teams as needed to achieve facility production goals
  • Regularly maintain safe sanitation practices for all processes, equipment, and facilities
  • Ensure all compliance and regulations are met and exceeded as per Noa Botanicals standards

POSITION SUMMARY

Product Specialists at Noa Botanicals are responsible for patient and caregiver intake, product transactions, and providing excellent customer service. The Product Specialist must maintain a thorough understanding of medical cannabis varieties, derivatives, and infused products based on current offerings in the Hawaii market and current cannabis science. This position provides superior customer service and educational guidance to registered patients and caregivers. The Product Specialist must maintain a professional appearance, organized work environment, and dispensary appearance. The Product Specialist reports directly to the Dispensary Lead and Dispensary Store Manager.

CORE JOB DUTIES (including but not limited to)

Customer Service & Sales: 

  • Maintain a positive, service-oriented attitude toward all patients, co-workers and the Company
  • Greet patients and caregivers as they enter the dispensary. Provide exceptional service for new and returning patients, anticipate and answer any questions they may have, and provide outstanding new patient guidance
  • Maintain and prepare the appropriate documentation from each patient and caregiver at every visit, ensuring the validity of his or her identification and registration with the State 
  • Record each visit using the patient management software, ensuring the accuracy of customer and caregiver information, and recording specific requests, preferences, and notes, if necessary, while observing and maintaining all applicable patient confidentiality requirements
  • Prepare, verify, process and collect payment after order verification, and apply to each customers allocated amount in accordance with state and local law
  • Communicate with Dispensary Lead and Store Manager to maintain a steady customer traffic flow to maximize sales and customer satisfaction, as well as inventory levels to maintain accurate and up to date menus 
  • Meet and exceed set sales goals 
  • Assist in audit and inventory tasks as assigned 
  • Respond to and resolve customer requests, complaints, or compliments in person, through email, and on the phone, escalating for supervisor support as needed 
  • Maintain organization of records, desk space, dispensary, and waiting room through daily upkeep and light cleaning 

Medical Cannabis Education & Guidance: 

  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of all applicable state and local laws, all medicine, products, and services provided, as well as documentation processes in accordance with the State of Hawaii 
  • Educate patients and caregivers on medicating options and methods, strain information, medicine effectiveness for specific ailments, and cultivation methods

POSITION SUMMARY

The Transporter provides transportation of product between Noa Botanicals cultivation, dispensaries and production facilities. They are responsible for providing superior service and ensuring the accuracy of all orders and timelines of deliveries. The Transporter reports directly to the Post Harvest Manager.
